Q: Is there practice during the week?
A: There is one practice per week for children in our U10 boys league (ages 8 and 9), U13 boys league (ages 10,11, and 12), and U13 girls league (ages 8-12). The U8 league (ages 6 and 7) will have an optional skills development practice during the week. Children in our U6 (ages 4 and 5) and U16 boys (boys aged 13, 14, and 15) practice and play games on Sundays only.
Q: Where are the practices held and on what nights?
A: Practices are at the International School of Brussels (ISB) and at St. John’s International School in Waterloo. The BSA will determine the time, night and location for practices in cooperation with our volunteer coaches. Practices will begin at 18:30 (or possibly later for our older leagues).
Q: What if there are certain nights when my child cannot practice?
A: We do not practice on Friday nights and you are able to select an additional evening your child is not available to practice during registration. We will then assign your child to a team practicing on one of the remaining evenings. We are unable to meet requests for specific practice nights and locations.
Q: Where are the games played?
A: Games are played at the International School of Brussels (ISB) in Boitsfort and or at St John's International School in Waterloo.
Q: Where and when does the U6 and U16 boys programs take place?
A: The U6 basketball program will normally take place on Sunday afternoons at ISB from 13:00 - 14:15. The U16 boys basketball program will also take place on Sunday afternoons with the time to be determined.
Q: How are children assigned to teams?
A: There will be a skills evaluation day (4 December) for children aged 6 to 12. We will then do our very best to develop balanced teams based on the results of these evaluations. We cannot accommodate special requests for team assignments.
